  1. I love Carnival. Any ship built in the past 5 or 6 years.

    With lots of balconies.

    Older ships are just ok.

Carnival has come leaps and bounds ahead of the other cruise lines in food, service, nice ships, .

See your travel agent for the best advice.

  2. Please join us. If you are interested you can call Carnival Cruise Line directly to make your arrangements for payment. Carnival Cruise Line Group Department number is 866-721-3225, then option #2, then hold for a group consultant. The group number for the cruise is: 1R4Z21. They will give you a confirmation number to make future payments. A deposit of only $25.00 per person is needed by July 20, 2007 to hold your cabin.  A total of $250.00 per person is needed by August 10, 2007.  Carnival can book your airfare for you but you can probably get a cheaper airfare booking it on your own.  The gratuities can be paid at the end of the cruise or can be paid before your cruise. Also, you MUST have a passport for the cruise. Inside Cabin $475; Outside $594 & Balcony $814

  3. My 12 year old and I just got back from taking a Cruise in May. We went on the Carnival Legend. I thought the ship was pretty kid friendly with enough activities for her , and us together to have a great time.I have also taken her on the Carnival Triumph which we liked a little better but that may have been the ports we visited. The eastern Caribbean  seemed more inviting. The Legend we took went to the Exotic Western Caribbean and I have to tell you it made me very uncomfortable to arrive in ports that had large men with automatic guns on the rooftops. If  I had been alone I don't think I would have noticed it as much. Also I think I felt more of an urgency to keep her very close when we were in port.

  4. I would pick a ship from the Conquest class. These ships were all built in 2001 or later. The Conquest class includes:

    Carnival Conquest

    Carnival Glory

    Carnival Liberty

    Carnival Freedom

    Carnival Triumph

    Carnival Valor

    Carnival Victory

These ships leave from a variety of ports. Because they are the newer ships in the Carnival fleet, most of the ships sail seven or eight day cruises. A few will occasionally sail shorter cruises. Log on to Carnival.com to research the exact cruise options you want.

I think the Conquest class would be the best option for you and your daughter because the ships offer the best children and teen program in the entire fleet. Your 13 year old would like this. The ship will have more venues than a smaller vessel, meaning there will be more activities. You and your daughter can enjoy these together. I have read that a new spa program has been implemented offering mother-daughter spa treatments.

If you want a cheaper or shorter cruise, you may want to try a Fantasy class cruise. These ships include:

    Fantasy

    Ecstasy

    Fascination

    Sensation

    Elation

    Imagination

    Inspiration

    Paradise

These ships also sail from a variety of ports. These ships are also very nice, but date back to 1991 throught 1998. This class is undergoing major refurbishments. Some of the upgrades are already completed. These include remodeled staterooms, new children and teen facilities, mini golf courses, new sports areas, and new spas. The ships offer mostly four and five day cruises.

If you are willing to wait until 2008, Carnival will be launching a new ship and a new class. The Carnival Splendor will set sail in the summer of 2008. It will do several Northern Europe cruises, before moving to Fort Lauderdale for seven day Caribbean cruises. This ship will offer some of the finest staterooms at sea, the largest spa in the Carnival fleet, the addition of a water park to the children and teen facilities, the Carnival Seaside Theater, and so much more!

These ships differ in iteneraries, deck plans, ammenities, and price. You will have to do a little research on your own to find which ship best fits your vacation plans. I suggest looking for exact information on the Carnival Cruise Line website. You could also look at reviews on sites such as Cruise Critic and Cruisemates. Have fun on your cruise!

  5. Most of the Carnival ships are kid friendly. They may be a few small ones that aren't. The Valor to the Caribbean or Pride to Mexican Riviera.
