  1. I love this ship and it has just been recently renovated so it is truly amazing now.  I have taken several Carnival cruises and that is my favorite class of ships.  The layout is 1000 times better than the Destiny and I'm not much for The Biggest Ship ever approach.  You end up missing out and it takes forever to walk from your cabin.  But the Imagination is perfect.

Lets see.  It was my husbands first cruise.  we went out of Tampa to Cozumel, Costa Maya, Grand Cayman, and Belize.  Costa Maya is just a fake port, just like many eastern Caribbean ships go to a Private Bahamas island.  Cozumel was my favorite port of all time.  Love it and have been back.  I go snorkeling in the national park.  Great shopping as well.   I wasn't that fond of Grand Cayman though that was before the hurricane wiped it clean.  We went to Stingray City which took most of the time in port and they were amazing!!  Belize was another amazing one.  We went to Xunantunich, the best preserved Mayan ruins.  I was fascinated by the culture.  However our table mates did cave tubing and it was their favorite stop by far.  I wish I'd had more time in Belize, even though it's really poor.  You have to do a shore excursion there though.  Right off the dock, everyone is just begging for money.

In general the Imagination was my favorite Carnival cruise.  The ship had the best service.  I attended the Shopping Talks (coupons and suggestions of recommended stores) and had a complaint with one of the stores.  I'd gone to Del Sol and my item did not work.  When I tried to exchange it, the guy just sat there looking like I was speaking Greek.  I complained to the Carnival guy thinking he'd get me another Del Sol product but he went above and beyond and got me a leather pocketbook.  The whole staff was above and beyond.  I loved the Lido deck for breakfast and lunch.  We ate dinner in the dining room each night and I loved our wait staff.  they were so entertaining.  I wish I'd eaten at a few more of the restaurants on board.  I didn't try the spa, but the art auction was one of the best on any Carnival ship.

Really you can't explain a Carnival cruise.  You'll just have to go and experience.  I love that ship though and you will have a great time!!!

  2. I went on it a long time ago, before it had its new renovation I guess, but it was kind of wearing in some places and it needed to be renovated. You could tell it was an older ship, the cabins were actually pretty small compared to some other cruise lines I've traveled on, and we didnt have the greatest room. We got an oceanview, which is a nice cabin, but it was smaller then other staterooms I've had on other cruise lines in the same category of rooms. The rooms are really brightly colored, as our room was I think an orange or red color, but the staff was amazing. A person in our room had a birthday and they decorated the cabin really nicely and it was really amazing. A nice cruise though. I didnt have the greatest time because of some issues in ports I had but thats a different story.
