Carnival Penthouse Suite - what are the room amenities?

What does the room have - the rep and I had a good laught, truly only VHS and not a DVD player?

Is there a stocked mini fridge? pay as you go?

It depends upon the ship.  I have sailed the Cat 12 Penthouse on the Fantasy class ships and am leaving tomorrow for the newly refurbished Fascination - in a Cat 12.

I enjoy the LARGE room, the comfortable and large sitting area and the huge balcony.  I also like that my stateroom is ALWAYS cleaned and ready before I return from breakfast.  You will have VIP checkin at the pier which means you won't be standing in line with a coupla thousand other people and - when the ship is ready to be boarded, you will have priority to board.  In most cases, the Cat 12's are ready for occupancy immediately upon boarding - unlike most of the others which may not be ready until 1 or 1:30PM.  Your luggage is delivered quickly.

They do have stocked mini fridge and there is a charge.

On Carnival, the "perks" kick in based on the number of cruises on Carnival you have under your belt; not just the stateroom you book.  For instance, if you are a "Platinum" cruiser (10 or more cruises on Carnival), the amenities are quite nice....personalized stationery, hor's d'ouevres and snacks comped in the room, etc.

I take my grandson once a year on the Fascination - that is why I book the Cat 12.  They have nice balcony "mini" suites in Cat 11 which I would normally book for myself...however, Cat 11 only has a queen bed which cannot be made into twins.  It would mean one of us would end up on the sofa bed.  I book the Cat 12 ONLY because it offers a king bed that can be split.  

When I don't take him with me, I stay in a balcony stateroom - shopping for the lowest price I can find for a solo traveler.
