Carnival Pride and Princess Diamond?

Question

I'm planning a trip to Mexico on either the Carnival Pride or Princess Diamond and want to know what either boat is like. Positives, negatives. Also does either have wireless Internet.

took the pride last year..nice ship  has internet ,but why?

Carnival and Princess are both good good cruise lines.  I have sailed both.  I would give Princess a slight edge, although Carnival does have superior staterooms in my opinion.

I believe that ALL Carnival and Princess ships have Internet access.  And most have Wi-Fi.

When choosing your cruise line, I would base my final decision on itinerary.

Just a note...  Carnival and Princess are both owned by the same company.

I've sailed on both Carnival and Princess (as well as RCCL) but not on those exact ships, but from my experience, I would say that you are better off on the Princess cruise ship.

As previous answers have suggested, that Carnival is generally festive atmosphere, almost Carnivale in Rio like.  Very loud decoration, party music all day, alcohols flowing, it's fun, if you like to party.  But Carnival is usually cheaper than other cruise lines, so that is a plus.  Food is from what I have seen slightly better than RCCL and even Princess.

Princess is more upscale and more refined cruising. But it's still fun. Best thing about princess is the movies under the stars. Huge screen by the pool that plays latest hits, concerts so you can relax on the pool chair watching movies under the stars, that's cool.   Carnival has internet cafes and wireless hot spots only in the pubilc areas. It does cost you $.50 per minute and you can't buy minutes in bulk, which can be expensive.  (But they will give you a coupon for $5.00 free Internet  if you spend $10.00 or more)

They are both HUGE and newer ships.  But if I had your choice, I would go with Princess. Decor is more subdued elegant, the food is very good, entertainment was better than Carnival and best of all, they hound you less about getting photos taken (which gets annoying to almost harrassment on carnival ships)

Good luck. No matter which ship you choose though, you will have a fantastic time. Crusing is the best vacation.

The question really comes down to Princess vs. Carnival....and that is the easiest thing to answer in all of cruising.  Princess!  If you don't care about the terrible food and plan to be drunk your entire vacation then you are okay to go with Carnival - otherwise never cruise with them.  I have always been content travelling with Princess, I am in my 20s and love to party but have high standards when it comes to my room and food.  Most people only travel with Carnival until they become experienced cruisers then realise what a joke they are.
