Question:

Carnival and Infant?

I'm going to take a cruise with my baby. I know they have something going on for toddlers (2 years old and up) but I wonder if anyone know what is it for infants, I mean if they have official sitters or something like that?

I haven't booked the cruise yet, still wondering if it's a good idea to go just me and the baby.

Thanks!

  1. In order to cruise with a baby, the baby has to be at least 6 months old. They do not have individual babysitters, only group sitting. You also have to pay full fair for the infant too unless it is the 3rd or 4th person. Then hey charge like 1/2 the amount. For more info, I would talk to a travel agent that specializes in cruises before you go any farther.

  2. I think they do have sitters. But not sure. Check out carnival's website.

  3. i just was on a carnival cruise and their is a program called camp carnival and parents can drop off their children if they want to eat alone, i am not sure if your 6 month can attend this camp, but just check the website.

  4. For the love of everything sacred !  Are you really thinking of taking an infant on a cruise ?  Why ?  So I have to hear you baby crying as Im trying to enjoy a nice romantic dinner with my wife ?  Then you are wanting to know if they will baby sit your kid.  Just leave the kid at home with a family member since it sounds like you are concerned about your own enjoyment.  Oh yeah, just fyi ! your kid isnt going to remember his 1st birthday on the ship, but other passengers will.  Think about it !

  5. I think cruises are more adult oriented. Like nightclubs, bars, even nude swimming on some cruises. I don't think that would be a good environment for an infant, plus it may disturb other guests when (if) the baby becomes fussy. They will have a hard time adjusting as it is not their normal routine. I would avoid going on a cruise with the baby. Too much of a commitment, you can't go home when your out in the middle of the ocean.

  6. I really don't think it's a good idea to bring a baby on a cruise. We saw a few couples with babies and, honestly, they didn't look like they were having too much fun! You're on a ship trying to have a fun time... but lugging around baby gear, diapers, etc. What's the fun in that? I'm sure grandma/grandpa or other relatives would LOVE to watch baby!

  7. i too would contact  a cruise specialist and tell them of your wishes,. they could help you with your vacation plans.
