My husband has work authorization in the US and multiple entry visa (his green card is under processing right now) and we are going on a cruise to cayman islands and calica mexico with carnival. Do we need a visa to get off at either of the two places? the cruise only stops there for about 8-9 hours. anyone been to these places and has any experience? Does anyone check visas when u get off at cayman or calica?

  1. You just need your passport and a photo id

  2. Until his Green card is official, he's still a resident of his native land not the USA.  He will not be treated as a US citizen but as a citizen of his native land.  This means he needs his foreign passport and any and all visas required by the Cayman Island and Mexico that pertain to his country.  You can find this information out by calling his local Embassy. DO NOT depend on a travel agent to know all the rules because you will be the one left on the pier waving good by as the ship sails.  I've met too many passengers who were given wrong information by their travel agent.  If he doesn't have the proper documentation, he won't have to worry about getting off the ship because HE WILL BE DENIED BOARDING AT EMBARKATION!

Cayman is a great place to visit.  If you're a scuba diving, you have to dive.  If not, a trip to the Turtle Farm and h**l are fun.  Or go visit the sting rays at Sting Ray City.
