Carnival crusie for kids?

We are planning to go on a Carnival cruise in Sept. 2009 with our 6 year old son, Is the ship and trip pretty good for kids? I just want to make sure he has a good time and has plenty of stuff to do. Also how much money do you think we should take, I know that we are paying the extra gratuity fees before we go but that we need money for alchoal and excursions at the ports.Does anyone know how much these things usually run? There will be plenty to offer your son! The kids programs are great and there is always something to do even if he doesn't go with a program.

as for the excursions, you can check online for exact prices. I recommend you book them in advance because they fill up quick.

but everything you buy goes on your ship id card, it acts as your credit card for the whole trip. It is linked to whatever credit card you give them at check in, so you cannot use cash for anything.

Im 15 AND HAVE BEEN CRUISNG WITH CARNIVAL SINCE I WAS 7 THAT WAS MY FIRST CRUISE WE WENT ON THE ELATION. NOW ABOUT 97% OF THE TIME WE CRUISE CARNIVAL Y, BECAUSE I LOVE CARNIVAL. THEY HAVE LIKE THE BEST KIDS PROGRAM I HAVE YET TO GO ON. U CAN DROP HIM OFF @ THE KIDS CLUB. ALSO U DINT SAY THE SHIP BUT OH.WELL. PICTURE ABOUT $12 A DAY FOR GRATUITIES. ALSO U NEED YOUR CREDIT CARDS AS THEY WILL ACTIVATE UR SAIL AND SIGN CARD W/ THAT CREDIT CARD SO U CAN USE THAT 2 MAKE PURCHASES. ALSO U CAN CALL THE CARNIVAL AND ASK THEM IF U HAVE ANYMORE QUESTIONS. 2 MORE CRUISES AND IM PLATINUM WOOT.WOOT.!!!
