  1. I will give you the answer I just gave someone else.

I love this ship and it has just been recently renovated so it is truly amazing now. I have taken several Carnival cruises and that is my favorite class of ships. The layout is 1000 times better than the Destiny and I'm not much for The Biggest Ship ever approach. You end up missing out and it takes forever to walk from your cabin. But the Imagination is perfect.

Lets see. It was my husbands first cruise. we went out of Tampa to Cozumel, Costa Maya, Grand Cayman, and Belize. Costa Maya is just a fake port, just like many eastern Caribbean ships go to a Private Bahamas island. Cozumel was my favorite port of all time. Love it and have been back. I go snorkeling in the national park. Great shopping as well. I wasn't that fond of Grand Cayman though that was before the hurricane wiped it clean. We went to Stingray City which took most of the time in port and they were amazing!! Belize was another amazing one. We went to Xunantunich, the best preserved Mayan ruins. I was fascinated by the culture. However our table mates did cave tubing and it was their favorite stop by far. I wish I'd had more time in Belize, even though it's really poor. You have to do a shore excursion there though. Right off the dock, everyone is just begging for money.

In general the Imagination was my favorite Carnival cruise. The ship had the best service. I attended the Shopping Talks (coupons and suggestions of recommended stores) and had a complaint with one of the stores. I'd gone to Del Sol and my item did not work. When I tried to exchange it, the guy just sat there looking like I was speaking Greek. I complained to the Carnival guy thinking he'd get me another Del Sol product but he went above and beyond. The whole staff was above and beyond. I loved the Lido deck for breakfast and lunch. We ate dinner in the dining room each night and I loved our wait staff. they were so entertaining. I wish I'd eaten at a few more of the restaurants on board. I didn't try the spa, but the art auction was one of the best on any Carnival ship.

As for the 15-17 yo, you sign up for the camp program based on age group as soon as you get there.  Each night you get the info slipped under your door just like the Carnival Caper will be.  Basically due to your age, you'll get to select what you might be interested in doing (and will have the night club at certain times just for your age group) but unlike the kids, they don't really care if you wander around the ship or only attend one event every couple days.  They aren't babysitting like they do the young kids.

  2. going on it today!

  3. I've sailed this ship twice.  Both times out of San Juan.  The ship is good and the ports of call were amazing.  We did the same cruise twice because it was so good.  Ours was the one that included Aruba.

I've yet to go on any Carnival that wasn't good!

    Enjoy your trip.
