Carnivore husband?

Question for vegetarian and vegan girls.

Will you marry a carnivore husband?

I'm a vegetarian and my husband is an omnivore......(carnivores are animals that eat meat and nothing else).  Marriage is all about compromise and we have managed to find a way for both of us to be happy even though we have different dietary preferences.  

Marriages experience a lot of highs and lows, and over the years you'll find that dietary differences are a small drop in the bucket compared to other complications that may arise in a marriage.  If a couple can't work together so that both of them can be happy with what they're eating...well...that marriage probably wouldn't be too successful when they get to the tough stuff.

My boyfriend was a proud meat-eater before he met me, but he became a vegetarian 4 months into our relationship. I told him it was stupid to become a vegetarian for someone else, that he should only do it for himself, but insisted on doing it out of love.

If you kiss a smoker, that sure doesn't make you one, does it? Terrible logic.

I know many couples who are fine with different eating habits. They just make attempts to respect each other. Case in point, when my friend cooks, she makes meat for her husband and puts it on his plate so he can enjoy the meal to.

Marriage is about compromise. Diet is a trivial thing to base a marriage on.

edit- yes, but I would ask that he has some understanding for your views, so perhaps he could gargle some hot water first to get the taste out.

I eat meat, and my parents eat meat. but sometimes i wonder what is the best. I'm new to vegetarianism, but earger to know more. pls clarify my doubt...

There are no carnivore humans in existense so you are basically asking if people would marry an animal such a wolf or a tiger or any carnivorous creature. Humans on the other hand are omnivores because they can generally eat both meat and plant foods without difficulty. Vegetarians are omnivorous humans who choose to eat plant foods exclusively.

As for your question, many "mixed" marriages and relationships exist and exist succesfully. There are a quite a few vegetarians married or are in relationships with omnis in this very forum. I answered in a similar question that if kissing and eating are the cornerstones of what you think a successful relationship is all about, then perhaps it might not work.

O m n i v o r e...Carnivores eat only meat and nothing else.

I am married to a vegan.  He was vegetarian before I even was.  He gave me a chance even though I wasn't a vegetarian.  I don't know where I would be if he had concentrated only on my eating habits.

There is so much more to a person than what they eat alone.  You need to get to know the whole person.  Then the rest will fall into place.  

As long as the person respects your beliefs and doesn't try to change you, there should be no problem.  You will also have to decide among each other how the meals will be prepared in your house.  I know now that I am vegan I wouldn't want to prepare meat :)

My bf is carnivore :( I am vegeterian... but he brush his teeth... I work on that to turn him into vegeterian... :))))

yes, and you mean an omnivore.  im vegetarian and i admit it would be easier to marry a vegetarian guy but if i find my guy and hes not a vego, big deal its his way of life and i will support him if he supports me
