Carolina Hurricanes forward Jeremy Welsh looking to improve his game year
Jeremy Welsh, a Canadian professional ice hockey player, who is currently associated with Carolina Hurricanes in the Southeast Division of the Eastern Conference, has expressed that he would be looking to improve his game in the upcoming season and will
try to get better.
Welsh played for Union Dutchmen hockey team when he played the college hockey and their coach, Rick Bennett believes that he did not see a very mature player or a kid when he saw the forward and it was not very good at times.
Bennett states that the player’s feet were not very quick and there were a lot of flaws that they found out in the player, as he said,
"His feet were a little choppy. We just kind of looked through a lot of that stuff. We saw the intangibles he had."
The 24-year-old player who was signed by the NHL team on 5th April 2012 in a one year entry level contract, thinks that he was under a lot of pressure when he made his NHL debut for Hurricanes, as it was his very first game but for the other players
it was not the same as they were lot more relaxed, playing their last game of the season, as he said,
"I think with everything that happened, I was a lot more nervous to play the Thursday game against Ferris than I was to play the Saturday night game with Carolina. Kind of talking to the guys in Carolina beforehand, it's the last game of the year so they
weren't too nervous about it, so the coaches were all good”.

The Bayfield, Ontario born centre also revealed that it was a big surprise and a big change for him when he was playing for his college team and suddenly he had to pack his bags and then go to one of the biggest league of the world.
Welsh had a good start to his career as he started playing for Oakville Blades in the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) and scored 17 goals and 35 assists in the first season to get 52 points in the 48 games and did even better in the next season as he
played just 49 games and scored 36 goals, 47 assists for a total of 83 points.
