Carolina Hurricanes plays host to the Florida Panthers in their sixth and final meeting of the season - NHL Previews
Another one of the important games of Tuesday is the Carolina Hurricanes playing host to the Florida Panthers.
This will be the sixth and final meeting between the two teams during the course of the season.
Out of the five games that have taken place between the two sides already, the Hurricanes lead the series 3-2.
The last and most recent meeting between the two teams during the 7th of January 2011 was won by the Hurricanes, 5-3.
A few days ago both teams were on talking terms ahead of the trade finalizations. Now, the two teams face each other in what is expected to be a very entertaining and exciting encounter.
The Hurricanes are in the eighth spot and things are all but easy ahead of the play-off race heating up.
The teams below them like Toronto Maple Leafs and the Buffalo Sabres who are piling up some decent results recently and the Hurricanes might have the fear of going down the table.
The two teams are four and two points behind the Hurricanes which might be even cut down further if the Hurricanes don’t come up with the best of results which is a win.
Hurricanes have been very disappointing during the month of February as they have come up with just four wins out of the 13 games they have played.
Inclusion of players like Stillman and Allen may boost the Hurricanes as they look to defend and finish in the final play-off position.
Stillman was in top form as he came up with a brilliant performance in his first game and scored a goal in his second game.
The Hurricanes have played 63 games during the course of the season out of which they have won 29 games in regulation time and nine games in overtime to score a total of 67 points.
On the other hand, the Panthers have played 62 games out of which they have won 26 games in regulation time and seven games in overtime scoring a total of 59 points.
Panthers will be squaring off against their division rivals in the Hurricanes as they have been one of the hottest teams in the National Hockey League when it comes to the fact of trades during the past two days.
The Panthers let go two players to the Hurricanes and things will be very entertaining and tensed as they face their former team.
Panthers are in the building phase and their general manager is the one who guided the Hawks to the Stanley Cup. The Panthers are also going through the same face now which has seen them trade six players.
The Panthers are going through some tough times in the league which has seen them wining only two of their last seven games.
Coupled with this is the fact that they have come up with only one regulation time win after the 1st of January.
