Caroline Afonso, Sophie Giquel-Bettan receive Sponsor’s Invitation for the Evian Masters
Evian Masters is just round the corner and the players are just as excited as the fans and observers. Some players consider themselves lucky to be included in the entry list of the event.
Two such players belong to France and will be playing in the event on sponsor’s invitation. This is a great opportunity for these players to gain valuable experience and earn a share of the huge prize money.
The first of these players is Caroline Afonso. An upcoming player, Afonso has been playing pro golf since 2007. She became popular after she became the number one amateur golfer in France. This was in the year she turned professional.
Afonso has two top-10 finishes so far this year. One of them came in Deloitte Ladies Open, where she tied for the sixth place. She scored a total of 214 points. Her performance in other tournaments has been below average at best.
In the well received Raiffeisenbank Prague Golf Masters, where Melissa Reid had her emotional win, Afonso stood at the 20th position.
Afonso also played in Deutsche Bank Ladies Swiss Open, where she tied for the 22nd position. This record speaks of a golfer who has amassed some experience but lacks exposure to top level events. Evian Masters is a perfect place for Afonso to
show off her talents and skills.
Sophie Giquel-Bettan is another player who will participate in Evian Masters on sponsors’ invitation. The 30-year-old player is considered to be a skilled golfer and has an excellent record.
For Sophie Giquel-Bettan, 2012 is a particularly great year. So far, she has managed two top-10 finishes. Her best finish came in Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open presented by EventScotland, where she stood 7th.
She also played in Turkish Airlines Ladies Open and managed a ninth place after scoring 293 points.
This is a unique opportunity for these two players to play against the top talent of international women golf. The expertise will go a long way in improving their technique and each will gain invaluable experience.
Top golfers from all over the world have already reached France, where they will participate in the most anticipated event on the golf calendar, Evian Masters.
