Caroline Bon eyeing to earn a spot in the European Tour in 2012
Nothing could have been going better for Caroline Bon especially at this stage when she has been able to qualify for the final stage of the Ladies European Tour 2012.
At 24 years of age, she could not have expected anything better than her securing a place in the top 35 after successfully going through the four qualification rounds of the event.
However, the fog of danger has still not settled down for Bon, as she still needs to surge five more positions in order to legitimately make her place in the event.
It is also important to mention here that the former Kiwi strokeplay champion was able to finish at 11-over-par total to earn herself the 28th place at the La Manga South and North Course in Spain.
Furthermore, Bon has to hold a firm grip on her never especially after observing Waikato golfers, such as Sarah Bradley and Emily Perry.
These players have been able to score high and shine at the Lake Macquarie Women's Amateur, currently taking place in Melbourne.
While the tournament scores are currently being led by Australian Whitney Hillier, five shots and a five-under 68 in the second round of the match, Bradley and Perry, at the same time, cannot be considered to be weak opponents either.
Sarah Bradley managed to stabilise her position after having good rounds of 73 and 77, due to which she landed in the eight position in the event.
Similarly, the seat at the ninth position was reserved by Emily Perry after she was able to score well, making rounds of 74 and 77.
On the men’s side, however, the top seed position above all is currently in possession of Kiwi’s Ben Campbell, who has paved the way for many other players of New Zealand, into the amateur category of Royal Melbourne Golf Club.
Nevertheless, Campbell faces strong competition from his fellow countryman, Nathan Colman, as both will battle each other for the 13th position.
Likewise, it will not be very easy for Caroline Bon to secure a confirmed position in the championship, especially with such a cutthroat competition awaiting her in the encounters to come.
