Caroline Hedwall back on top of the Leaderboard - Hero Women's Indian Open
Caroline Hedwall, the Swedish golf professional, is still in contention to defend her Hero Women’s Indian Open title, as she has pulled herself back up on top of the leaderboard after a disastrous first round.
The 23-year-old Swede fell all the way down to the 47th place on the leaderboard after the first round of the Hero Women’s Indian Open. She made numerous bogeys throughout the day and made a double bogey on the 5th hole.
The following round on the DLF Golf and Country Club changed the whole course of the tournament for the Swedish Golf Professional.
She played the best round of golf, as compared to other participants of the tournament. Hedwall demonstrated a magnificent game that reflected on her scorecard.
With a total of nine birdies, she played a delightful 6th hole, on which she made an eagle.
The 23-year- old started the second round from the 3rd place. She only played one bad hole, which did not do justice to way she played throughout the day.
Hedwall struck a bogey on the 11th hole of the second round of the Hero Women’s Indian Open 2012. The Swedish golf professional has set herself nicely to threaten the players on top of the leaderboard.
Pornanong Phatlum, the professional Thai golfer, led the proceedings till the end of the second round of the Indian Open by playing a consistent and a remarkable game.
This form of Phatlum had won her the same tournament in 2008 and 2009. She is familiar to the course and has, in the past, played her best golf on the DLF Golf and Country Club.
For Hedwall to give Phatlum a run for her money, the Swede will have to continue with the same game that has brought her up the leaderboard
Bree Arthur, Laura Davies and other top players on the Ladies European Tour have had a decent tournament so far.
However, with Hedwall playing such spectacular golf, the top players will have to come up with something special to dethrone the Swedish Professional golfer.
One thing is for sure, the Hero Women’s Indian Open will have an exciting finish and what is to be seen is that if the 23-year-old, Hedwall, will be able to defend her title.
