Caroline Hedwall in the top ten after the third round: Omega Dubai Ladies Masters
Caroline Hedwall is considered to be one of the strong contenders of the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters. She has displayed a wonderful game of golf throughout the tournament.
Hedwall started her first round with a brilliant overall game. She was driving magnificently and putting to perfection.
The Swedish professional golfer, Hedwall, carded a score of 69 in the first round, which put her in a commendable position.
In her second round, the Swedish golfer made two birdies. For a player of her calibre, Hedwall’s performance in the second round was only satisfactory.
She carded her first birdie on the first hole of the second round, and the second birdie came on the 18th hole. Halfway through her second round, Hedwall had a score of 35 and the last nine holes she played were similar to the first nine.
She ended up with a decent score of 71 and with that her second round came to an end.
Hedwall was placed at the 13th position when she started her third round. Her third round was spectacular, as she carded five birdies.
The birdies came on the 3rd, 9th, 10th, 12th and the 13th hole. The Swedish professional demonstrated some excellent golf throughout the third round and now she stands strong with a score of nine-under.
Hedwall is nine shots behind the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters leader of the tournament, Shanshan Feng.
During the Hero Women’s Indian Open Hedwall made a remarkable comeback to clinch the second place. She played one of her best rounds of golf in India to come in a highly respectable runner-up position.
Hedwall’s performance in the Hero Women’s Indian Open was nothing short of magnificent and now with all the momentum on her side, she is expected to put up a similar show in Dubai.
Hedwall still has a long way to go, as the shot difference to the leader of the Dubai-based tournament is massive. It will require something special from the Swedish player in order to threaten the top player on the leaderboard.
Feng has extended her lead by playing a consistent game throughout the tournament and now just has to stick to the basics in the final round to lift the prestigious trophy.
