Caroline Hedwall threatens to snatch lead from Anne-Lise Caudal in second round of Finnair Masters
The second day on the Finnair Masters at the Helsinki Golf Club, turned out to be a warm and pleasant day where Frenchwoman Anne-Lise Caudal grabbed an early lead with her second round score of one-under, 70.
Caudal's position is likely to be challenged as the fast approaching contenders were seen swiftly moving up the leaderboard. Caudal had a difficult day on the course as she seemed to be battering a painful wrist injury which might have kept her from matching
her first round performance of six-under, 65. She is now seven-under on the aggregate after closing her 36 holes for the €30,000 event.
Thai golfer and overnight co-leader, Titiya Plucksataporn had a disappointing second on the course when she dropped down the leaderboard with her score of two-over, 73. She still has to tee-off for the back nine and has already dropped two shots in her front
nine. It was tough day for the young golfer who is eager to post her maiden win on the Ladies European Tour as she stumbled on a bogey right from the first hole.
Belgian star golfer Christel Boeljon, winner of the Turkish Ladies Open at Antalya and also the Money leader on the LET, continued with her steady assent on the leaderboard and posted another brilliant second round of three-under, 69.
Boeljon is now five-under on the aggregate and will be hoping to continue her climb to the top. Boeljon pulled in three birdies and dropped just one shot en route to a joint third for the moment.
Swede Caroline Hedwall, posted the most stunning opening nine on the Helsinki Golf Club course when she pulled in a colossal 32 for the back nine. Starting off from the back, she carded three birdies right from the opening hole and rounded them up with a
glorious eagle at par-five, 17th before making the turn.
Hedwall is now threatening Caudal for the lead and is currently poised at outright second with six holes to go. The player has already won a title on the LET when she overtook the field to clinch her maiden title at Allianz Slovak Ladies Open and went over
to win the hybrid PowerPlay Golf event against a field consisting of Graeme McDowell and Ian Poulter.
