Caroline Wozniacki awaits a twist in luck – Tennis News
Former world number one, Caroline Wozniacki, is looking for a twist in luck that will help her revive some glorious moments from last year and win few titles in the remaining half of this season. It has been a terrible year so
far for the Dane superstar who started off as the leader in the rankings chart and stumbled over to the ninth spot within a span of just five month. However, she recovered two places to reach the seventh spot but still it is quite a huge loss for one of the
best performer of the last season.
Wimbledon Championships was another stage where the 21-year-old Dane had an opportunity to shut her critics, who were complaining about her lack of ability to win a Grand Slam. However, she squandered that opportunity as well;
bowed out in the first clash against the inferior ranked Austrian, Tamia Paszek, despite winning the opening set. She is going through one of the tough times of her career; failing to achieve any sort of momentum and not winning a single title for half a year.
Utterly frustrated with her early exit from All England Club in London, the Dane stunning performer stated, “I didn’t think it was a bad match. You're going through periods when you're lucky, the luck is turning your way, you're
not playing great, but you win the matches anyway.” It seemed like she was pacifying herself; it was kind of a dejected response.
She further added, “You go through periods where it's just not going your way. You just need to get through this. Hopefully, sooner rather than later, it will start turning my way. I had over two years where I was winning these
matches. I feel lately it's going the other way a little bit. It's not the first match this year where I have had match points and didn't win. It's frustrating, obviously. But that's tennis."
Wozniacki has been related to an eye-catching relationship with the former world number one golfer, Rory Mcllory. Some critics believe that her lack of form this season is due to her constant sharing of time between Mcllory and
tennis practice. However, the Dane has dismissed all such claims stating that her terrible performance has nothing to do with her relationship with the golfer. She still has the same focus on tennis. It is just the bad luck that is ruining the show for her.
