After a lengthy two hours and thirty nine minutes top seeded Dane Wozniacki jumped back from a set down to secure a 5-7, 6-2, 6-4 score against Radwanska on Tuesday the 25th of October 2011.
Initiating the first round was the top seeded Dane and she was successfully able to bag her service game and commenced the scoreboard to 1-0. Following in her footsteps was Radwanska but she had to battle a deuce before she was able to place herself on the scoreboard at 1-1. During the following two games the contesters bagged a game on alternate serves and Radwanska was leading the game with a score of 4-2. However, Wozniacki managed to close in on the deficit by the eighth game and in subsequent two games the players once more held serve. By the end of the tenth game the score had tied at 5-5. Radwanska hit the jack pot when Wozniacki gave a breakpoint chance in the eleventh game. The Pole capitalized on the break and then held her serve to go one up in the match as she had won the opening game.
Inaugurating the second set was once again Wozniacki and this time she was unable to hold her service game. However, Wozniacki got lucky as neither was Radwanska able to hold her service game and after exchange of breaks the players had rotated the scoreboard at 1-1. In subsequent two games the players once more broke each other back-to-back and the score had tied at 2-2.
However, this time Wozniacki got lucky as Radwanska had double faulted on her serve and had gifted a break. Mean while, Wozniacki capitalized on the break and with a hold of serve took the lead at 4-2 by the end of the sixth game. The top seed then repeated the feat and secured a 6-2 victory of the second set.
