Caron Butler, J.R Smith: 10 players who can encourage Dwight Howard to stay at Orlando Magic: Pt-2
Caron Butler
The Dallas Mavericks veteran Caron Butler carries a substantial experience and he can be a fruitful option for the Orlando Magic as the starting small forward. Butler didn’t play in the play-offs for the Mavericks however the 31-year-old
had an impressive 2010-2011 regular season. Caron provided a significant support to the Mavericks in the 29 games he played for the team last season and averaged 15.0 points and 4.1 rebounds per game.
Butler still has a lot to offer and can play a vital role with the Magic. If Orlando can spend some money, they should procure the valuable experience of Butler that can help the All-star Dwight Howard to alleviate some pressure.
Carl Landry
New Orleans Hornets’ dynamic power forward Carl Landry is another decent performer who can carry the action on both the ends of the court. The 27-yesr-old Landry is quiet effective on the rebounds. Teaming up Carl with the brilliance
of the leading rebounder in NBA Howard, the Orlando Magic can more strong on the boards. Landry is also a prolific scorer as well which makes him a pretty reasonable fit in Orlando.
J.R Smith
Denver Nuggets’ prolific bench player J.R Smith is a formidable scoring threat. In his last season, the 25 year old smith sparked Denver’s bench play with a number of electrifying performances to lead his team into the play-offs.
During the 2010-2011 regular season, Smith averaged 12.3 points and 4.1 rebounds in just 25 minutes of playing time in each game.
Smith is known for his spectacular dunk shot and can unleash a couple of surprising 3-pointers to hamper the opposition in the defining moments of the game. Having Smith in the line-up will reduce a lot of burden from the big man
Howard who can concentrate more on his defensive play while Smith can provide a significant support on the offense.
Kris Humphries
New Jersey Nets’ constant double-double threat Kris Humphries is a perfect man to start with Dwight for the Orlando Magic. In his eighth season with the league, Humphries transformed himself into a dominating player and earned
the reputation of an influential power forward. In the last season with the Nets, Kris averaged 10 points and 10.4 boards per game.
Having Kris in the team, the Magic will become an unyielding power on the rebounds by assembling two best rebounders at one place. Apart from a prolific player on the glass, Kris is pretty active on the offense and keeps the score
board ticking.
Dwight Howard and Kris Humphries can form a formidable duo and can become an alarming threat for any opposition. There is no doubt that every team comes well prepared against the big man Howard. However, if he gets the support
from Kris, Orlando can do wonders in the next season. Kris is agile, versatile and has a lot more to offer to the world of NBA as he is just 26 years old at the moment.
