Caron Butler “extremely unlikely” to make it to first round of playoffs
Caron Butler, who was expected to miss the rest of the season, and, had torn his right knee’s patellar tendon three months back has an update.
This may not be good news for his fans and will leave them shocked. The Dallas Mavericks coach, Rick Carlisle, disclosed that the player will not be able to play for the team during the first round of the upcoming playoffs.
The Mavericks, who are currently in third position in the Western Conference of the National Basketball Association, with a 53-25 record, have been coping without their injured player.
Bulter was injured early on in January, 2011, while playing against the Milwaukee Bucks. The player left the game in the very first quarter with a knee injury and was prompted to undergo an MRI that resulted in a surgery too.
He missed the rest of the season after that. Right now, the player is being advised to rest well so that he can make a quick recovery and be present in better form for the postseason.
The player had averaged 15.0 points and 4.1 rebounds during the season before getting hurt. The news surrounding the player missing the rest of the season had upset his fans enough but the statement passed by the coach regarding him being “unlikely” to play
the playoffs is shocking. Dallas is definitely worried about the possibility of this action.
Carlisle gave his insight into the case as a coach when he said:
“I can't give you a medical opinion. My coaching opinion is, his jump shot looks great. He's doing great and he's way ahead of schedule. But timetable-wise, I don't have one. He's been able to step up his activity moderately, but he's not running yet or
anything like that”.
The coach further added that it will be extremely unlikely that Butler will be seen in the first round.
On the other hand, Butler has taken every step to recover from his injury and make it back to the court. So it will be wrong to think that Butler has not been trying hard to recover. The player has tried all methods to recover from the injury. He even tried
staying in a hyperbaric chamber to make a speedy recovery.
In order to make the healing process faster and get stronger, Butler has been performing exercises to build strength. The 31-year old small forward has been doing stationary bike exercise as well as working out on an underwater treadmill. He has also been
doing cardio workouts to keep himself fit and expressed his inspiration when he said that he kept goals but no updates.
