So i have a deck and off the deck I want to make a rounded/curved pavers. does anyone know how to use two pieces of wood together to pivot and make a radius off the deck? i know this sounds vague, but even the name of this process would be helpful.

  1. Rather than using a string for the two sticks use a piece of steel wire similar size to a large steel guitar "string" or use another piece of timber inbetween the two sticks. Trouble with string is it stretches very easily and you end up with a very uneven curve.

  2. The easiest way is to take two "sticks" and tie a string to the bottom of the "sticks". the string should be the length of your radius. Drive one stick in the ground at the where you want the radius to start and you can swing the other "stick" to make you arc.

  3. if the radius is small enough that you can use a 2x4  (they come up to 16 ft. lengths) drive a stake in the ground and drill a hole in the 2x4 and use this to mark your radius...this is the easy way for one person to do it...you can lay the 2x4 on the ground while you use your hands to lay out what your laying out...
