Carpentier did NOT qualify???

Question

I somehow got the times for qualifying between Nationwide and Sprint Cup series mixed up, and completely missed Cup Qual, and I just logged on NASCAR.com to see Patrick Carpentier didn't qualify. So did something go wrong or what? I mean, the only other time he hasn't qualified for a race was Spring Bristol because of rain, (if I remember correctly). It just shocked me.

I dont no i was out so i missed it. But i looked at the line up and there was all kinds of mixed up **** that surprised me. Carpentier dnq, Jr at the back, Bill Elliott at the front, Shrader at the front i mean all kinds of mix ups.

He also didn't qualify for the Daytona 500 when he had a flat tire in a dual race. It is a shame but he just went slow.

Was very surprised to see line up while watching the qualifying and when finished, just shaking head again...Kudos to Carl for smacking wall and on the pole....

All the cars were struggling as "wicked loose" but poor Carpentier was simply put out run by surprise contenders!

I was shocked too. I was also shocked to see Jr. qualify 40th...

yeah I saw that.  Too bad too.  I like the guy.

He didn't miss Cup qualifying he was just too slow to make the field. He over drove turn 1 and never recovered enough to make his second lap fast enough. It is a shame for him and his team, they have done a great job of getting into the field on time.

i was shocked to. i took a good look at the go or go home list, and i was naming who i thought would make the race, and who i though wouldn't make the race. patrick was the first one i choose to make the race. wow.

I hope he has his resume updated.  Rumor is Reed Sorenson is taking over his ride and Franchitti is coming back to Ganassi to take that ride over.

Many people don't seem to understand this. He had a good enough time to qualify. He would have been 38th but the drivers with provisionals bumped him off the grid.

My Jaw dropped. I respect the guy so much and i was shocked he didn't make it. Unbelievable it had to be this way for him.
