I have a Hoover central vacuum with a carpet beater brush. One of the wires entering the carpet beater was frayed and eventually broke. I took the carpet beater apart cut off the broken wire, bared some new wire and re-connected the wires to their proper places. The carpet beater works on another Hoover system but does not work on the original. Took the handle apart. There is the plug, the switch and what looks like a circuit board to which wires are attached. they go to terminals that connect to the circular part of the end of the hose. The vacuum works but the carpet beater does not. Is it possible that one of these three items got shorted and needs to be replaced?
