Question:

Carpet Deep cleaning with OxyClean?

I have a Bissell Proheat 2X Deep cleaning machine. I hate to spend money on their own recommended brand use for shampoo/cleaning supplies.

Can i use OxyClean powder for it? I read some article on the internet about Oxyclean being used on deep cleaning machines. How do i use it? I have 2 compartments in the deep cleaning machine - One for hot tap water (which gets more heated) and another one for the cleaning shampoo.

Do i add Oxyclean to the hot tap water with nothing in shampoo container? Or should i be using a diluted version of Oxyclean powder (what are the specs on mixing?) in the shampoo container?

  1. Yes, you can use that.  We do in our Pro Heat.

What I do is, put one scoop of powder in a plastic bowl or large glass, and then in a seperate bowl or whatever you have, put about 5 cups of hot water and microwave that till it is very hot.

Then I pour the water SLOWLY into the bowl that has the powder, mix well, be careful, it will fizz up!

After it cools down, now you can place it in the seperate tank.

Rinse the carpet well, because it can leave a white residue.

    :-)

  2. dont clean your carpet with thaaaat

just shave it off or douche.

  3. If you do decide to do this please make sure that ALL of the powder is dissolved before you add it to the cleaner.  I have seen that c**p ruin perfectly good carpet cleaners

  4. i sue oxyclean in my shampooer all the time. but i dissolve it in a bowl first with a spoon to make sure it is compleatly liquid before i put in in the tank.
