Im sure some of you know what i mean by these old black stains that i have no idea where that even came from, im guessing mud from the winter, i dont know... but does anyone know ANY great product that REALLY works wonders on the carpet in your car? Thanks so much for your help!

  1. Spot Shot!  I keep in in the house because I have 3 golden retrievers - thats alot of dirty paws sometimes!

It does work tho. To get my whole carpets cleaned, we usually call a carpet cleaner locally who specializes in pet stains.

  2. At your local walmart or target in the automotive dept is a blue can (blue magic).  It works great.

  3. I think the steam cleaners work the best... the black spots were probably a sugary drink or edible and dirt clings to sticky spots.

Good Luck and remember, if it doesn't have feelings, it probably isn't as important (My mom used to tell me that when my kids were small!)

  4. The sad fact is that no one cleaner works for all stains. Greasy stains require one type of cleaner and acidic stains require another. I really like the Rug Doctor cleaning solutions that are in the section of the store over the Rug Doctor rental equipment...you won't find them where they have the regular capet cleaners like Resolve and Woolite etc. If you keep a spray bottle of Rug Doctor Spot Remover and a spray bottle of Rug Dr. Pet Stain Remover (it works on more than just pet stains) on hand, one or the other of them will get out most stains. I've never had a stain that one of them wouldn't remove. Just follow the instructions and be sure to blot and not rub on stains. After you clean the spots if you want to give your carpets an overall spuce up just use some of those spray foam cleaners like Woolite carpet and upholstery foam. Even the Sams Great Value works well and it's MUCH cheaper. You just spray the foam and sponge in with a sponge mop and let dry, then give it a good vacuuming. You will be surprised how your carpet will look when you're finished.Good luck.

  5. Depending on how bad the stains are , you may need a carpet cleaner.... However I have noticed that alot of people these days (especially the common mother) use Oxy Clean... most products that use oxidization are GREAT!  Baking soda based products are great as well.

  6. I like Oxyclean for car carpeting.

With four kids, I would suggest that the next time you buy a car, get one with dark upholstery and carpets.
