Carpet and paint match?

i have a purple/blue carpet and cant change it but i want to change the paint (which was purple) into a color a boy might like. ANY sugestions

Well boys go for colors on the navy, forest, orange, and red sides. But it seems as though any of those would create a feeling of claustrophobia unless the room is excessively large. I say go for a neutral, with a tan or yellow underglow, to pick up on the purple/blue. Then decorate with boyish items. Large horizontal stripes in slightly varied shades will add depth and width to the room as well as create good appeal. Go for beadspreads in navy and accesories in navy or red.
