I have a chance to adopt a 2 year old rather docile carpet python. I have heard their bites can mean stitches, is this true?

  1. depends on how sever the bit is. you can need stitches after rodent and cat bites sometimes.

  2. I have received stiches before due to a snake bite but it was from my 12 foot retic and half of it was my fault because i tried pulling my hand out real fast i know it was the wrong thing to do but my reflexes kicked in before i had a chance to think. I dont think you will have any prob with a 2 year old carpet.

  3. it really does depend on how bad the bite is

  4. No, that is highly unlikely. I've been bitten numerous times by carpet pythons and they rarely even needed a band-aid let alone stitches. You have nothing to worry about. The only snake bites I've heard about that required stitches were from very large reticulated pythons.
