Carpeting rooms and I don't know how many tiles to buy!

I have two rooms I need to put carpet one. One is 14X14 feet and the other is 5x5 feet. If I have buying 1 square foot tiles, how many would I need to fill each room?

  1. 5X5= 25 sq. ft.

    14X14= 196 SQ. FT.


  2. 196 for one and 25 for the other. add 10 percent for the edges and waste cuts. most tile comes in box's of 10 to 45 per box. look at the box for its total square feet of coverage then just do the math. dont forget adhesive.

  3. you gave yourself the answer, muliply one side by the other but get some extra for cuts and mistakes.

    For the room that's 14x 14 then you time 14 by 14 and you answer is 196 but get about ten more for spares.

    With the other room it's 5x5 which is 25 so get about 30 again for spares hope this helps .
