Question:

Carpool or bus?

This may sound frivolous but it has been bothering me.

I use to bus to work everyday. I'd aim to get to work at about 7:30 so I'd have to get up a quarter to 6, since the bus trip took a little over an hour. The ride home took about an hour as well.

I recently met a friend at work who lives houses from me. He offered to carpool and seems like a nice enought individual. This would cut the commute down to about 30 minutes both ways. I would get an extra 45 minutes of sleep everyday.

Ignoring cost, what would you do? I know many would say carpool, but I'm having qualms because I don't like being on someone else's schedule. I have a lot of freedom about when I come and leave work right now, and not sure if the extra sleep would justify committing to a commuting relationship.

  1. Would have to talk to the person about how his hours an overtime is.   all the people i would ride with do not do the same hours so i have to drive myself since no public transportation.  Talk to him and figure out what is best for you.  work out a sometimes deal.  If you get out at the same time you ride with him for half the gas and a buck.

  2. I would try out the carpool.   If it doesn't work, just politely say that the scheduling isn't right, and you'd rather go back to the bus.  Nothing wrong with that.

  3. this is the type of thing that you must figer out on your own doto problee a lot more to this then your saying of it so i would have to say it like this if your asking on here then your not sure of what to do but your also aking others what to do but your not telling all as to why you would be question it and the come and going of your work at any time is not the thing

  4. I would carpool. Im not a morning person!
