The English International was of the opinion that the Northern Irishman has boldly handled the injury and transfer window setbacks, and was also impressed by the performance of the younger players.
It has been difficult sailing for Liverpool so far this season. After failing to do good business during the transfer window, the Merseyside outfit suffered a series of dismal results in the league, which pushed them down to the eighteenth spot in the table.

“It isn't just the ability they have, it's the character as well. It's not just against West Brom that they've showed that. It was last week as well in the Europa League (against Young Boys). He's giving players a chance and they have to grasp it. So far
they're doing that.”
The 34-year old further said that their win over the Baggies this week was an encouraging sign for them, and was optimistic that they will soon be able to carry their domestic cup form into the league.
