The Merseyside team will square off against the Blues on the 5th of May at Wembley, and will play two league games before the showpiece event.
The 34-year old indicated that the Reds boss, Kenny Dalglish will give an opportunity to the young players to prove themselves before the final against the Blues, and that all of them are fighting-out to win their position in the starting eleven. He was
of the opinion that an impressive performance in the next two league games by the players can result in their selection for the Cup final.
While talking to the reporters, he said: “If you perform well in these games, you have a greater chance of playing in the final.”
Liverpool will play Norwich City in an away game on 28th of April and will play host to Fulham three days later. The English International specifically underlined the importance of the game against the Whites, as it is their last before the final.
“There are two games now before the final and I'm sure the manager will mix it up because the Fulham game is just before the cup final.” he added.
