Carragold to take charge of the Remember John “Mother” Hubbard Handicap at Beverley
Leading the Class 4 Remember John “Mother” Hubbard Handicap is Carragold, majorly due to the fact that he is relatively more experienced at Beverley than the rest of the candidates. The race will be held over 1 mile, 1 furlong and 207 yards on Tuesday, 26th June.
Competing for the £4,528 prize money are six, four-year-old and above runners.
Diktat’s six-year-old bay gelding has turned in four races this season. Cutting the 2012 campaign into half, there is a marked difference in the level of performance between the two.
He finished as the runner up in the Petwise Zoo In The Course Enclosure Handicap on 7th May at Beverley, and the race was won by the 4 to 1 joint-favourite, Toto Skyllachy.
The other joint-favourite of the race, Moheebb, finished third ina field of eleven.
Out of mare Shadow Roll, Carragold then captured the very next race of the season. He won the Beverley Racecourse Is Perfect For Weddings Handicap on 15th May at Beverley over a mile and one half-furlong.
The 11 to 4 favourite winner had Robert Winston aboard, and the two led the runner-up of the race, Toto Skyllachy, by 3 ¾ lengths.
Filling up the third slot behind the winner was, Moheebb.
Quite surprisingly, in both the races the first three positions were taken by the same horses, but the pattern was different each time.
His third outing of the season surfaced on 30th May in the form of the Collect Your Key And Padlock Handicap at Beverley over a mile and two furlongs. The race was won by, Landaman, who led by eight lengths and was joined by the 3 to 1 favourite, John Louis.
His next stop was in the Richard Howard-VYSE Memorial Handicap on 16th June at York over a mile and a furlong. This time he was entered as the 5 to 1 favourite, and concluded the race fourth behind the winner, Edmaaj.
Through the four seasonal outings, Carragold has ranked at the equal different positions from winning to coming fourth.
It is time that he makes the most out of his racing experience at Beverley and exploits the 6 to 4 odds in partnership with, Duran Fentiman.
