Im going into grade 11 this year and I am starting to wonder about some career choices. I have considered becoming a geologist, or going into something much harder, a pharmacist. My question is this. Which would you choose and why. What are the salaries like for both these jobs. Im leaning more to geology. WHat is the highest paid field of geology. I heard mining was. What path would I go to follow a career in geology. Do I go to Uni? I would want to school alot to get a) higher pay and b) more experience.

Please help

  1. I would choose geologist. Pharmacists start out getting paid lots more but they also carry heavy student loans. Neither will ever be out of work, and as a geologist you can work (1) for an oil company, (2) for a mineral mining or precious metals company (3) be a professor at college, (4) work for a construction company, (5) work for the U.S. government as a geologist, (6) work for a chemical plant, etc. As a pharmacist you can work at a place CVS, a major hospital or at a major drug company. It's all what you want.

Both jobs require advanced degrees, so you'll have to go to college for at least 6-8 years. Sounds like a long time, but believe me, it goes by very fast.
