  1. Right age 4 a single engine plane..19 y/o.

4 a commercial license, she will need 2 go 2 a "Avionics University" located in outside Pensa Cola, Florida, USA.

This course will cost u around $25 to $30 USD per year.

Can she joined the Indian Air Force? If yes, then thats the better route 4 all this.

    Good luck my friend!

  2. Well there aren't exactly "courses" that you take to become a pilot (and I'm assuming she wants to be an airlnie pilot correct?). How old is she? She can begin flight school at any age (well, at least in the US. I'm not sure about India.) Try looking at these sites for schools in your area. Type in your zip code.

One thing that is good to know is that there are different types of flight schools which are part 61 and part 141. Part 141 schools are generally higher quality, but either type will get her to where she is going, so all that really matters is which flight schools she is most comfortable with. Visit all the schools in your area, meet the staff, see the aircraft you'll be flying in, the atmosphere, and ask for an introductory flight. In the end what really matters is that she is comfortable with the one she chooses, regardless of if it is 141 or 61. I would suggest her waiting until 13-15 to begin flight school, if she is older than fantastic she better get started! However, you can begin at any age. You solo at age 16, which requires that you pass a third-class medical exam. It takes about 6 months to a couple years to solo after starting. At age 17 you get your private pilot, then your instrument & multi-engine ratings, and age 18 your commercial pilot certificate which requires that you pass a second-class medical exam, and have at least 250 hours in fixed-wing aircraft. At age 18, she should go to college, and get a four-year degree, which is extremely vital to becoming a pilot - there is so much competition that you wanna make yourself look better. You have almost no chances without a degree. It does not have to be aviation related, and infact I would suggest getting one in something OTHER than aviation, for example medical or mechanics etc etc. Because if another 9/11 happens all the pilots will get layed off, and no one will be hiring, and she'll have nowhere to go so it's best she gets a degree in another interest for safety. After she gets out of college, she needs to build up flight hours. There are many ways to do so, but I would suggest regionals. Some peple fly for cargo airlines, become CFI's (certified flight instructors) or enter the military, but DO NOT go into the military, because that could s***w up her life, if she screws up a single little test they stop training her and make her wash toilets for them for like 10 years, so don't take that chance. So, after you have enough seniority as a Captain for a regional you can get hired by a major. Some majors require that you have your ATP Certificate (at least 23, pass first-class medical exam, around 1500 hours in fixed-wing aircraft). But some don't so it depends. When she first gets hired she will of course start out as a F/O, and she may or may not be a reserve F/O it depends on how many piltos are needed. When she has enough experience as a blockholder F/O the airline will promote her to captain (again, she may or may not start out as reserve). Blockholder Captain is the top!

Okay, as far as cost goes, it is quite expensive actually. It costs from $7 grand - $15 grand to get your private pilot certificate. I have a tip though. Because flight school is expensive, try asking them if she can wash planes in exchange for lessons. Some of my friends do this, but I asked my school and they refused, so....just try it, but I'm not saying they will let her. Some provide student loans, but you must meet certain standards blah blah blah and it only works if she attends often, like 3-4 times a week. I'm only 14, so I have to spread out my schedule to flying once a month so I don't finish too early, so loans would not work for me. Of course, you also need to pay for college which is costly (I'm assuming she is not there yet).

Well I wish your daughter the best of luck. Happy flying!!!
