The stand in coach of Juventus has given his thoughts on various issues pertaining to their Serie A match against La Viola and has also downplayed much of the hype.
The match against Fiorentina and Juventus is always touted as an important match and the fans of the club share animosity amongst each other, and before the match starts later today, there is a certain hype surrounding the fixture as well.
In their last visit to the Artemio Franchi outfit during the 2011-12 campaign, Juventus overcame the threat posed by La Viola in comprehensive manner as they won by a mammoth score line of 5-0. The loss was a humiliation for the Gigliati faithful and they
would be looking to exact revenge over that drubbing.
However, comparing the two sides can be a little tricky as the Viola outfit from a year back is not the same as the team that will be playing later on today. There have been more around 18 acquisitions made by the club in this summer, which has lifted the
quality of the squad to a whole new level.
Another reason for the increased interest in the outcome of the match is the fact that Fiorentina are being considered as title contenders for the Scudetto along with Juventus and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003. In all the hype that has been surrounding the outfits, Massimo Carrera
was keen to state that he was not affected by the speculation and rumours doing the rounds in the media and the press.
He went on to state that it would not be an easy match for the Bianconeri outfit and they would have to play to the best of their ability if they are to take a positive result from the match. He went on to state:
“I’m not concerned about what is said about the game from the outside. It is a match like the others, for myself and for the players. It’s just a normal rivalry and everybody wants to beat us. It will be hard against a side who play in the same shape as
we do. We’ll have to go there with a provincial mentality which is needed to get a result. Our physical condition is excellent and our opponents have to run a lot to keep up with us. We'll go to Florence looking to do all we can to clinch all three points.”
The Scudetto holders have a perfect record going into their fifth match of the Serie A, and it will be tested to the limit by Fiorentina later today.
