  1. hashish, rum, jerk

    and some blue mountain coffee

  2. Each Island has their own specialties. To name a few items. I don't live there, but I visit as often as I can.

Spices and seasonings, rum-punch and rum-cakes,coconut tarts, teas and coffees, jerk pork or jerk chicken, seafood, rice and beans, peas, johnny cakes, roti, callaloo soup, goat stew.

I'm sure some of the locals will chime in. Enjoy)

  3. Jerk, curry, conch, fish, fruit, rice.

  4. Depends on the island really. However what helps tremendously is that our diets consist of lots of vegetables, except where people are adopting more americanised-diets with lots of junk. Generally the fresh vegetables, lots of fruits and juices and water, makes a big difference.

some dishes include: pelau, roti, coo-coo, callalloo, breadfruit oil-down, sweet breads, jerk chicken/fish/pork/lamb, curries, shark and bake, and the list goes on...

Our seasonings, which again differ from island to island makes the food taste differently as well. We use thyme, chive, pimento peppers and a host of other seasonings.

And of course you can never go wrong with the coconut water.

    Good Luck in your quest.
