Carribean in November?

I hear that November is the last month for the hurricane season. Is it the worst month? Or not that bad? Your thoughts on vacationing in the Carribean in the month of November? I'm hoping to go back to Punta Cana, but I am under the impression that Aruba is out of the hurricane belt...so maybe there this year?
