Manchester United’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Carrick-c25282 has insisted that he is not giving up hope on the title race as yet and believes that his side can still claim the league title.
Manchester United and Manchester City went into their games this past Sunday level on points, with both the teams needing to win their respective games.
However, with City and United both winning their games, nothing changed at the top of the table and the two teams are still sitting in the top two spot, with City leading the league table thanks to their superior goal difference.
Carrick was asked if City’s win had a negative impact on United and their mentality going into their game, to which the defender responded by stating:  “It does, because it’s natural, we were hoping for something and City won.”

“So we had to perform. We had to go out there and win. It was our last home game, we had to give something to the fans. [We go into] next week and give ourselves a chance [to win the title].”

“We were watching the game at Newcastle and hoping for something and it didn’t quite happen, we just had to be professional and motivate ourselves to win the game and take it on another week.”
He then went on to talk about his game against Swansea, where he felt the team played rather well, but had they scored a few more goals, things would have seemed a lot better for the team, since the goal difference between City and United would have been
cut down drastically.

“We started well, scored the goals, obviously we were looking to score a few more, but it wasn’t to be, but we take the three points and hope for next week.”
At the moment it is quite unclear as to who would go on and win the Premier League crown, since just about anything could happen in the last game of the season. A slip up from either side would see their opponents go on and claim the league title and for
this very reason, both the clubs will be looking to go all out in their upcoming games.
