I'm finally replacing my old but expensiveHoneywell Thermostat for the Carrier Infinity Thermostat that matches my Carrier Infinity 96% Furnace Model 58MVP 120.

It should be a no-brainer - 4 wires to connect. I turned off the furnace circuit breaker (15 amps) and uninstalled the Honeywell and reinstalled the Carrier thermostat. Green wire to Green thermostat connection, Blue wire to Yellow connection, White to White etc, and Red to Red etc. The one concern was on the thermostat it has a yellow connection, rather than the blue wiring coming out of the furnace.

Is there some special way to "turn on" these carrier thermostats? The installation and setup documentation that came with the box doesn't mention anything specific, except that there is a System On/Off switch.

The problem is the display screen never lights up - it remains dark. I've depressed the On/Off switch. I've held the On/Off switch for 20 seconds - nothing. Down in the furnace room the light in the viewer in the bottom right of the furnace base is on and constant- no blinking. The fan appears to be cycling through and then shutting off.

What to I need to do to get this Carrier thermostat up and running?
20 amp service? Secret handshake?

Thanks for all your help.
