West Ham United forward, Andy Carroll has gone on to express his delight after the striker managed to score his first goal for the Hammers.
Carroll was part of the West Ham side that went on to face Tottenham Hotspur this past weekend, and despite the Hammers losing their game by three goals to one, the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international managed to score for the team, which proved to his first goal for West
Ham, following his move to the team on a loan deal from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 at the start of the season.
Surprisingly before this goal, the player had not scored since the Euro 2012, when he scored for England.
When talking about the goal and just how it made him feel, Carroll is reported to have said:
"It was about time, to be honest"
"I'm just grateful to have got off the mark and hopefully there will be more to come this week.”
"I think I've put myself about and been involved in our goals in previous matches. I think I've been doing well so it was about time one went in.”
"It was a great ball in by Joey O'Brien and I just had to get up and head it across the keeper. That's what I did and thankfully it went in."
Despite him having scored the goal, Carroll was still rather disappointed with the way his side played in the game. The forward feels that his team could have done a whole lot better, but due to their lack of ability to perform in some games, they haven’t
been able to gather as many points as they would have liked to.
"It was disappointing as we made mistakes for all three of their goals, really," Carroll reflected.
"We should have done better, but they have taken their chances and obviously beat us.”
Despite suffering this loss to Tottenham, West Ham gone on to surpass just about everyone’s expectations, and that is quite astonishing.
Should they continue to play to the best of their abilities, they will easily go on and avoid relegation this season, which is what every newly promoted team wishes to achieve.
