  1. Carrots support eye health because they are loaded with vitamin A, however, they don't change  your vision unless your vision problems are medical instead of structural.  Eat a lot of carrots and you will turn a weird orange color (no joke).  But it won't hurt you if you did that.  You would just look weird.  Tanning pills they used to sell were based on that.  Anyway, it isn't impossible to improve your vision through wearing your glasses less and doing eye exercises.  How well that would work for you depends on your dedication to the exercises and exactly what factors are causing your poor vision.  BTW, you couldn't eat enough carrots to poison yourself on vitamin A

  2. carrots are high in beta caratene which is good for your eyes, however, if you need glasses it's not going to change that.  sorry.

  3. No, but thanks to carrots you can at least maintain the same vision that you have now, and not let it get worse.

  4. The Vitamin A from carrots IS good for night vision, and keeping the eyes healthy, in general.  BUT - you have to be careful of getting too much Vitamin A, which can become toxic to the body.  AND - your vision is caused by the shape and size of your eyeball, so there's not much help from vitamins there.  You can see (no pun intended) a little improvement with eye exercises - ask your optometrist.  I was put into gas permeable contact lenses ages ago to sort of act like "braces" for my eyes - and it did slow down the worsening of my vision - even almost totally corrected my astigmatism!  (LOTS of years!)  And there's always saving up for the LASIK procedure.  I can't see to cross a street without lenses - or recognize a person across the room - so I "feel your pain".

  5. No its a myth

    Theres always contacts though!

  6. I don't believe so, but i know for a fact that apricots are awesome for your eyes. Something in them inhanses your sight.

  7. No, while the vitamin found in Carrots may hep improve your vision, it won't be enough to correct your eyesight.  It won't even be enough for you to notice.

  8. nope.  sorry.

  9. it doesnt really work that way. its more like if you lack betacarotene your vision will deteriorate. it wont help you to eat carrots unless you are low on betacarotene.

  10. YEES. My eyes used to be borderline bad, but I was able to "pass" the vision test and avoid getting glasses, after loading up on carrots for a week. The next vision test I flunked, alas :-(

It works, albeit briefly. You'd have to keep eating carrots in huge quantities for the effect to last. .

  11. Of course they are. Have you ever seen a rabbit wearing glasses?

  12. It's a lie mothers tell their children to get them to eat carrots. The vitamin A found in carrots is used to help you see at night. If your vitamin A deficient your night vision will suck, but eating lots of carrots will not let you get rid of your eyeglasses only laser surgery will do that.

  13. Scientists has proven that carrots improve your eyesight, but not by a lot. If you already have really bad vision, you just have to wait unitl you get contacts. Even though eating carrots won't get you out of glasses, it might ease your eyes a bit and make your eyesight not so bad.

  14. well carrots are really good for your eyes but they aren't going to automaticly cure your vision. sorry =[

  15. absolutely..plus your poo will be orange
