Carry .45 - suggestions?

Full-size, no compacts. Reliability is #1, and a large magazine capacity would be... nice. (I have large hands)

Suggestions?

  1. Full size .45 acp?  Glock Model 21 or the stainless steel Para with the double-stack mag, a 14-round .45 acp.

  2. if you are going full size, the 1911 would be hard to beat. it is very flat, for a gun its size, which means its more concealable. mag cap will be 7-8 rounds, and grip size can be changed easily by different grips or replacing the main spring housing. you could buy one with a double column mag, but you are sacrificing the concealability to do so.

  3. If you want full size your best bet is a 1911 because it is alot slimmer compared to other full size .45s.

If you want capacity you should go with the Springfield Armory XDs.

One is a 4" service model and the other is the 5" tactical model. Both hold 13 round mags.

  4. Glock 21 or Glock 21 SF

  5. I have a Glock and love it but have been giving the Springfield XDs a serious look.  They are a hybrid between the 1911 and Glocks; taking the best of both.  Reliable, easy to clean, fewer moving parts, and a smooth trigger.  I am pretty sure my next auto pistol will be an XD.

  6. A Glock Model 30 is somewhat compact, but close to full size.  Easier to conceal than a true full size gun.  Very reliable, holds 10+1 rounds.
