  1. Depending on your luck your luggage could take awhile to get to your room. I think it is guranteed by 8:00pm? Either wear under your clothes or carry on your swimsuit to jump right into the action.

  2. You can carry onto the ship any baggage that you want to.  When you get to the port to check in you will give your luggage to a porter (tip him) and then proceed to a check-in deck.  After that they will have you go through the same type security checks as at the airport.  You walk through a metal detector and your carry on bags go through a scanner; put it on the belt just like in the airport.

Realistically you shouldn't try to carry your main luggage, but a small bag, and a camera bag, and a computer, and a backpack is OK, as long as you can carry or roll it.  Remember that many time they will let you on ship before your cabin is ready so whatever you carry on you have to carry until you can put it away.  Some ships may have a person/place where you can leave a carry-on for a short time while you go eat and explore, but don't count on it.

  3. A book bag or a small roller suitcase can be considered a carry on. Cruises don't have luggage restrictions, if you want to carry on 4 bags then you can carry on 4 bags. Usually I take a small duffel with a change of clothes, flip flops,  bathing suit, and anything else I may need immediately on the cruise. You will get your luggage the same day on the cruise it just takes a few hours for them to distribute everything, so just carry on what you may need for that day.
