I have a debit card linked to my checking acct and I use it all the time instead of checks or cash. Is it necessary for me to carry my checkbook around anymore? or keep a checkbook register? I use online banking as well. Thanks!

  1. I don't think you need to tote around your checkbook, but continue to keep the register.  That way you will have a ongoing record of your debit transactions (keep the receipts and post them to the register), online and paper checks.

I know a lot of people don't keep check registers anymore but I don't see how they can possible keep track of all transactions without it.

  2. I always keep my checkbook with me in case somewhere for some reason doesn't take debit or credit. I think it's a good back up...say you need to buy something but you haven't deposited your paycheck yet so you don't have enough money in your account, a debit wouldn't go through but you could write a check and deposit your paycheck after. As long as your careful and keep track and don't get too ahead of yourself, it's a good back up plan.

  3. I keep my account open but very seldom use checks.........

  4. 1. I dont hav debit kard & DONT take cheks with me.  Yuze cheks at home tu pae bill that kum in the mael.

    2. Oenlee time I take cheks if plan tu bi sumthang & dont hav kash...

that meen ben looking intu it sum time & dont wanta yuze kredit kard.

  5. i write checks only when absolutley neccesary and use my card mostly. instead of a check register i use those small notepads to keep all transactions recorded.works well for me.
