Cars and trains?

do they still haul new cars on trains, they did when I was a kid in the 70's and they had some probs with kids throwing rocks so they started to enclose the rail cars.

I work for BNSF Railway and they say 87% of the cars that are on the dealers lot were shipped by rail. In Richmond, CA most of the work in the yard is auto racks.
