Cars been written off as category C after accident, is it legal to drive?

my cars been written off as its not cost affective to repair, from a legal point of view will it be ok to drive back home from the recovery unit, its taxed, mot'd, and still insured? Is it allowed

  1. hey what happened to class it as a catergory C? was the chassis damaged? major panel repair? I'm asking as this will help me also as I'm looking to buy a car that was written of in 2004 as  catergory C

    also from the research i have done into this it is legal to drive it back but bare in mind on what and how bad the damage is that if you have an accident and eg the chassis is bent then you could be in trouble


  2. As long as it has been completely checked out and inspected and it is road worthy then yes you can drive it..........
