  1. All of them have their pros and cons. A medly will be required. I think biofuels like biodiesel and ethanol (made from cellulose, not sugars) will be the everyman's fuel sources. Electric, compressed air, and hydrogen will be used more for fleets like municipal services (fire, police, city workers, EMS etc),public transportation (bus and taxi) and some companies (security companies, couriers etc.) with a few regualr people buying them. Cars designed primariyl for city drivers will also be hybrids while the rest of the cars on the road could be either regular or mild hybrids. I personally like biofuels like biodiesel and ethanol (cellulosic ethanol has a 1:16 energy return, gas is 1:5).

  2. Electric.  They're the most efficient option, the technology is advancing rapidly, and all the necessary infrastructure (power grid) is already in place.  See the links below for further details.

  3. They all have their drawbacks.

For example, electric cars run on electricity which is produced by power plants buring fossil fuels. So is it really that much better than using gasoline?

You just have to decide which is most convient for you, most sensible for your lifestyle (because they do have their limitations), and which you think is least harmful.

  4. Biofuels like E85 are the best choice because we can implement them more easily and nothing much will change from the system we have with gasoline distribution except that it comes from a renewable source. We use ethanol already and many places already use E85. Electric is the best option for smaller cars and small trucks but I never see a trucker hauling over 10 tons for 1000 miles in an electric semi.
