I can't seem to navigate my way around any search engine. Big surprise. ANYWAYS, I was wondering if anyone knew how many miles per gallon a car would get when run on vegetable oil. Also (if anyone knows,) do you have to have a diesel to be able to convert the car/truck?

  1. After we burn all our food in cars, shall we then eat oil?

  2. Yes, the vehicle needs to start out as diesel to be able to convert to vegetable oil.

  3. My mpgs are better on wvo, more power.34 hwy on veg.762 mpg on diesel, get it.

  4. Well on my family's farm in New Mexico we have 3 5.9L Cummins diesels that run on SVO (Straight Vegetable Oil). we are getting the same mpg's as running with regular diesel. There was a bit of a power loss but nothing significant. The conversion kit we got is from www.greasecar.com . Yes you do have to have a diesel to run SVO, but any diesel can be converted to SVO so it is worth the investment. Another option to look into is bio diesel, I have a 2006 6.0L powerstroke running on bio diesel and a 1995 7.3L powerstroke, I am getting the same mpg's as regular diesel with no power loss. I make it myself and is just as cheap as SVO when you make it yourself. Hope this was helpful

  5. Your motor must be a diesel.

  6. I have a 2001 VW Jetta TDI, I get 52mpg on diesel and 46mpg on veg. And yes it has to be a diesel.
