Cars weighing under 1000kg (1 tonne?)

Question

hey. i was wandering what cars weigh less than 1000kg? I am thinking something quite old, maybe like 1988-2000 model car, decently sporty, and can be bought for around 5k?

in cars of those years, there are only two in the states.  

the chevrolet metro and the hyundai accent 3 door hatch.
