Carseat harness straps

Question

I bought a carseat at a yardsale with no instruction. On the strap adjustment there is a box on one side and I;ve tried everythihg to figure out how to get the straps out of the box to lower the straps and cant figure it out please help me. Its an evenflo rearfacing car seat with a basemodel #3161356 P1
